Your donations go a long ways in supporting the women and families in crisis in our refuges. Today become an advocate and join the movement against gender based violence.
As this period can be filled with opportunities for some of us, the lockdown period and the resulting social isolation may potentially escalate risks to women and children who are already unsafe at home. It is important that Shakti’s services remain open; we have contingency plans for our refuges and crisisline.
Shakti Community Council Inc. will remain open to clients as usual; however, we will be taking safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to keep our clients safe. We will be following Ministry of Health policy and will keep up to date with any changes.
As a crisis prevention organisation, we cannot afford to close our doors to those who need our help. If you are able to, you can donate to support our services.
