OPERATIONS MANAGER
Shakti requires a full time NATIONAL OPERATIONS MANAGER based in Auckland. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Past work experience in management in New Zealand / overseas will be an advantage and appropriate training will be provided to the right candidate.

Requirements:
- Preference will be given to Candidates with qualifications in Management and with at least two years’ experience in managing teams.
- Ability to oversee the activities of staff/volunteers nationwide
- Good people management skills
- Excellent written and spoken English (Includes report writing / administrative and computer skills)
- Be able to coordinate activities in relation to administration and management work, nationally
- Be multi-lingual (with spoken skills of at least one Asian/Middle Eastern/African language apart from English)
- Must have valid driving license and own vehicle

- Vacancies identified on an ongoing basis, implementing recruitment process, conducting Induction.
- Administration of Hamilton Office.
- Ensure that recruited staff and volunteers are provided with appropriate training and staff welfare is overseen.
- Reporting and Accountability.
- Advocacy and Lobbying for the welfare of ethnic and wider communities.

Job Description
Shakti Community Council Inc. is a 25-year-old not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of migrant refugee women and families of Asian, Middle Eastern and African origins. Led by ethnic women for ethnic women, we work to enhance social justice, women’s rights and contribute to safer ethnic communities.
Responsibilities
- Handling youth case work.
- Prepare and submit fortnightly client reports.
- Crisis response management.
- Liaising and advocating for clients.
- Provide support to youth clients.
- Completing client files and maintaining them.
- Liaising and advocating for Shakti as an organization with various government departments.
- Help in fund raising events (youth fund raising).
- Conducting youth workshops
- Liaising with national youth coordinators
Skills
- Confident with public speaking.
- Qualification in Social Work or Pscychology
- Ideally have a degree in social work, gender studies, social policy, international development or sociology.

Job Description Social Worker
Shakti Community Council Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of migrant refugee women and families of Asian, Middle Eastern and African origins. Led by ethnic women for ethnic women, we work to enhance social justice, women’s rights and contribute to safer ethnic communities.
To respond to the increasing demand for our services, we are looking at expanding our staff pool of Social Work. We have 1 Full-time (35 hours per week) position open in Christchurch.
Responsibilities include:
- Family Violence crisis response and management. Includes crisis attendance, assessment, case planning, advocacy, goal development and implementation keeping safety as paramount.
- Being culturally competent, be open to training and further development
- Keeping up with required policies and standards of practice including client paperwork documentation and reporting
- Attending supervision, internal and external meetings as and when required
- Being ethical and empathetic.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Qualification in Social Work in New Zealand or Overseas.
- Work experience in the Social Work sector in New Zealand or Overseas.
- Be philosophically aligned with Shakti’s area of work.
- Be passionate about working with women and children and ensuring their safety while promoting women’s empowerment.

6) POSITION : Vacancy for counsellors
Part-time or Fee-based COUNSELLOR needed in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

and community integration. We are looking for Counsellors to join our Counselling Unit to work with
individuals, children and families.
As a Counsellor in Shakti, you will be expected to:
- Deliver counselling to women, children and or families.
- Conduct in-house psycho-educational Programmes for vulnerable women and children
affected by domestic violence. - Be competent in English, spoken and written.
- Be good at report-writing, documentation, and general administration.
- Be empathetic.
- Be a good team player and have efficient time management skills.
- Have your own transport and be flexible to travel.
- Have ability to work in a cross-cultural setting.
- Be ethical and accountable.
Knowledge of Facilitation skills will be a bonus. The Counsellor will receive training to deliver the
psycho-educational programme.
